  • Vetting
  • Onboarding & Training
  • Supervision

Consultation

A consultative partnership built around your students, services, and school community.

Every school partner works with a dedicated Scoot Education Consultant who takes the time to understand your mental health and wellness needs. We partner closely with your team to learn about your programs, IEP requirements, school culture, and the unique challenges you’re navigating.

This thoughtful, peoplefirst approach allows us to design a mental health staffing solution that aligns with your goals. That way, we’re not just filling roles, but helping create exceptional experiences for students, staff, and families.

Vetting

Stellar mental health professionals—carefully reviewed and thoughtfully matched.

We know that when it comes to student mental health services, who you place matters. Scoot carefully reviews licenses, credentials, and eligibility requirements to ensure every provider meets state-regulated and schoolbased standards.

Beyond qualifications, our consultants assess experience in educational settings and alignment with school communities. Because sending the right provider—not just whoever is available—is critical to delivering safe, supportive, and consistent services for students.

Onboarding & Training

Schoolready providers supported through intentional onboarding and training.

Mental health support in schools requires more than clinical expertise. Scoot’s onboarding and synchronous training prepares providers for the realities of your environment, including:

  • District-specific systems
  • IEP workflows and electronic records
  • Crisis response protocols

So providers integrate smoothly and can support students effectively from day one.

Supervision

Ongoing, statecompliant supervision fully supported by Scoot.

Our support doesn’t end at placement. Scoot provides clinical supervision for applicable mental health roles, ensuring:

  • Quality of care
  • Professional growth
  • Regulatory compliance

Our experienced team helps you maintain confidence, consistency, and compliance without adding pressure on your internal staff.

Billing (coming soon)

Streamlined billing support aligned with schoolbased mental health services.

Scoot supports centralized documentation and billing for eligible mental health services, aligned with California Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) requirements.

Our approach reduces administrative lift for school partners and helps maximize eligible funding, so you can stay focused on supporting students.

“Schools are in a unique position to support student mental health.”

“Schools are in a unique position to support student mental health.”

Student mental health needs are increasing at an alarming rate. At the same time, due to provider shortages and unequal access, only about half of students with identified mental health conditions receive care.

Let’s close that access gap together.

Scoot success stories

Redlands USD

The Challenge
This California unified school district requested a cohort of 35 paraprofessionals in summer, weeks before the school year began, to cover unexpected gaps in faculty staffing.

The Scoot Solution
We fulfilled the entire request by the first day of school.

The Growth
Redlands USD has repeatedly expanded their para pool with Scoot. Since then, we successfully grew their pool to 55 educators by October and placed more than 90 paras over our two year partnership.

DC Charter School

The Challenge
One of our DC Charter schools struggled to find a qualified educator who could provide long-term support to two non-verbal preschool students.

The Scoot Solution
Their Scoot consultant learned about the students and what they needed to find an educator with the right temperament and skills, Marah.

She had prior experience caring for students with disabilities – proving that she had navigated alternative communication methods, sensory sensitivities, and behavioral patterns.

The Growth
Since her placement, Marah has successfully completed the DC Charter School’s training and now leads the classroom with two other support staff.

Redwood City School District

The Challenge
After being spread thin from internally filling special education support needs (mostly mod/severe), this California district urgently requested 12 paraprofessionals.

The Scoot Solution
We filled all 12 roles with people Redwood eventually hired full-time.

The Growth
After experiencing the quality of our educators, Redwood now requests day-to-day general education support as well.

Have a
question?

We’ve got you. Find fast answers in our FAQ.

Does Scoot handle both hiring and supervising?

Yes, in addition to hiring, Scoot also provides qualified, fully licensed clinical supervisors. They provide supervision in compliance with California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) for associate-level clinicians (AMFTs, ACSWs, and APCCs), including:

  • Group and individual supervision
  • Crisis support and on-call consultation
  • Ongoing training and clinical guidance

To make the process seamless, we handle all required documentation, including Supervision Agreements and weekly log signatures.

How does partnering with Scoot compare to building mental health and wellness services internally?

Building internally means absorbing operational costs — recruitment, supervision, compliance, EHR systems, and billing infrastructure — on top of staff salaries.

Scoot bundles all of that into one solution:

  • Qualified providers
  • Weekly clinical supervision
  • Ongoing training and clinical support
  • Crisis response protocols
  • An EHR system designed to track and document services in alignment with CYBHI requirements
  • A centralized billing and accounts receivable team for CYBHI services

We manage staffing continuity and help you reduce risk, administrative lift, and total cost of service delivery.

Deliver compliant services without the longterm infrastructure commitments required to maintain an inhouse clinical team.

How does billing work? Is Scoot participating in the CYBHI Fee Schedule program?

For general education students, Scoot handles documentation and billing through a compliant EHR system aligned with CYBHI requirements — including claim submission and reimbursement through the state-approved third-party administrator.

For special education students, Scoot invoices districts based on documented hours for individual counseling, group therapy, progress documentation, and psychological testing.

(Coming soon — Scoot’s statewide affiliated provider status under the CYBHI Fee Schedule is pending.)

Is Scoot a nonpublic agency (NPA)?

Yes! In California, Scoot is a non-public agency (NPA). We are authorized to staff specific special education and wellness roles on behalf of school districts or LEAs.

What does compliance look like?

In addition to our regular vetting process, we cover the following:

  • Education verification
  • License and/or credential verification
  • Background check
  • TB Assessment
  • Training certifications (Mandated Reporter, Child Abuse, HIPAA, Crisis Intervention, Child Sexual Abuse, Anti-Bullying and Harassment)
  • Positive Behavior Training (AB 1172)
