Scoot HQ Positions
$100,000 - $120,000 per year
- Leads our state expansion strategy and key partnerships
- Develops and manages partnerships
- Leads our partnership with our PR firm and digital marketing firm
The Organization
TeachStart (www.teachstart.org) is an innovative pathway to teaching. Our belief is that every aspiring educator deserves a pathway to teaching that is affordable and that prepares them for classroom success. Unfortunately, too many aspiring teachers - especially teachers of color - are blocked by our current system.
That’s where we come in. TeachStart hires aspiring educators as full-time substitutes, providing best-in-class training and a debt-free credential. Two years in, we’ve recruited over 250 educators (making us one of CA’s largest teacher pipelines). Our educators are diverse: 70% are of color and 50% are first generation college students. We’ve proven that our model works, and that we can open the doors to teaching for the educator population that students need most.
We’re a growing start-up, and looking for flexible, creative, entrepreneurial leaders to join our team.
The Role
We’re seeking a Director of Growth to drive our expansion to new markets and to 4X our impact in the next 24 months. We aim to reach 1,000 educators in the next 2 years, across 3-4 states. We need an expert strategist who’s both a planner and a doer. In this role, you’ll:
You bring 8-10 years of experience leading growth, recruitment, or expansion for a for-profit or non-profit. You’re creative, team-oriented, and excited about building something new. You love a challenge and pivot easily and eagerly when context changes. Ideally, you also bring experience in K-12 education. You are a great lateral manager and influencer who can drive action and change across a matrixed organization. You are mission-driven and believe deeply in the potential of all students.
How to Apply
TeachStart is an equal opportunity employer and service provider and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, gender identity, national origin, citizenship status, sexual orientation, disability, political affiliation or belief, or any other protected class. We are committed to the principles of Equal Opportunity Employment and are dedicated to making employment decisions based on merit and value, for ourselves, our educators, our school partners, and for the local communities in which we operate.
