Working as an RBT with Scoot
Our application process will ask for documentation such as:
- Valid RBT certification
- Professional references, including one supervisor
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or 48+ college credits
- Background clearance
- Experience working with children or in an education setting
We use the phone screening and/or interview portions to go over your experience and assess whether what we can offer matches what you’re looking for.
Once you successfully complete the application process, you’ll get onboarded with your designated consultant to unpack what to expect in your new role.
Your role length (i.e. long-term or short-term) and type (i.e. toileting, 1:1 or full classroom) can vary depending on our school partner needs. You’ll know ahead of time.
While you actively work as an RBT, you’ll be scheduled to meet your assigned BCBA supervisor weekly.
Plus, both your Scoot consultant and a practicing BCBA coordinator are here to support you. We’ll be advocating for your caseload, schedule and professional integrity.
Your BCBA coordinator also reviews your contracts and placements to ensure we abide by all standards outlined in the Ethics Codes by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Scoot RBT roles are typically full-time at a single school site for the full academic year.
You’ll work directly with students who need extra support – from one-on-one care to helping manage challenging behaviors in the classroom. Your role is to create a safe learning environment while supporting teachers and helping students reach their IEP goals.

Your BCBA supervisor and Education Consultant will collaborate to flex hours and support to help you achieve your certification requirements.
5% RBT supervision
Never work without proper supervision.
You’ll meet with your assigned BCBA weekly when you’re actively working as an RBT and can reach out any time for clinical support.

RBT training
Every month, Scoot’s resident BCBA coordinator runs RBT training modules.
You’ll up-skill with other Scoot RBTs to tackle classroom scenarios and behaviors together.

As a school RBT, you’ll provide direct support to students with behavioral needs under teacher supervision, working in classroom environments rather than clinical settings.
Key school RBT responsibilities can include:
- Providing instructional, behavioral, physical, and language support to students requiring behavioral intervention
- Implementing IEP accommodations/modifications and support Behavior Intervention Plans
- Managing challenging behaviors including elopement and aggression
- Working 1:1 with students (never unsupervised) or with small groups (maximum 6 students with you as sole adult)
- Participating in required training like Crisis Prevention Intervention (paid by Scoot)
- Following school policies, responding to emergencies, and maintaining student confidentiality
We support RBTs working toward any certification level – BCABA (bachelor’s), or BCBA (master’s).
Our BCBA Coordinator can assist in maintenance of RBT and BCaBA certification.
Monthly training cover the BACBs RBT Task List and Ethics Code as well as individualized professional development for behavioral support in the educational environment.
Training is led by our BCBA coordinator with support available between sessions.
You’re a W-2 employee with guaranteed BCBA supervision (5% minimum) and no billable hour requirements. We provide the supervisor, handle compliance tracking, and ensure you get the right mix of hours for your goals – no scrambling to find supervision.
